Level 1 vs Level 2 Chargers
Get up to speed on the benefits of upgrading to a level 2 electric vehicle charger
Charging Levels for Electric Vehicle Chargers
Level 1 vs level 2 chargers, what is the difference? These are typically the two types of chargers common with electric vehicles (EV) when charging for residential use.
Level 1 Charger
Most electric vehicles (EV) come with a level 1 charger. This style of charger will plug into any standard 120V outlet with the other end being plugged into your vehicle.
Level 2 Charger
This style of electric vehicle charger is sold separately from your vehicle and requires a little bit more of a setup. A licensed electrician is usually required to help with this setup as this charger needs to be plugged into a 240V outlet, the same kind that you would plug a dryer or stove into.
Benefits of Upgrading to a Level 2 EV Charger
To fully take advantage of the benefits of driving an electric vehicle (EV) or a plug-in hybrid, upgrading to a Level 2 charging station is highly recommended.
